Hourly and Contractor type workers
How to accurately track the man hours and labour costs across your jobs for the different type of workers.
A regularly asked question to the team at Builda Price; is how to manage your workers and which type to select when creating them.
There are 2 options in Builda Price when creating a worker:
- Hourly Worker
- Contract Worker
Though you may have contractor workers working for you, they can be set up as hourly workers to capture their costs and to be included in the payroll report (you can export the payroll report to one of our integrated payroll packages, these include Xero Payroll, Smartly. Payroll & Crystal Payroll).
An Hourly Worker can be considered as:
- Employee on wages
- A regular contractor eg: one that is registered withholding tax – they will still need to send an invoice to your company.
- A worker that needs to be included in your pay run (ensure they are setup correctly in your payroll package)
A Contract Worker can be considered as:
- A worker that is GST registered and will invoice you for their hours
- A regular contractor eg: one that is registered withholding tax – they will still need to send an invoice to your company.
- When you receive their invoice allocate it to the job as a Labour bill and to its applicable subheadings and cost centers.
Please consider the 2 options when creating your workers and select the option that best suits your business.
