How to deal with Leave
In order to capture worker leave for Payroll, without incorrectly logging hours against the job, it is useful to manually create a standalone Project called "Leave" and add the following Tasks:
1. Sick Leave
2. Paid Holiday Leave
3. Professional Development
4. Parental Leave
5. Bereavement Leave
This allows workers to log their hours to the appropriate task to ensure they still appear on payroll, without falsely reporting against a project or task.
For example, a worker logging an 8.5 hours sick day to "Foundations" would inadvertently affect your Job Tracking data.
Say the "Foundations" task has a manhours budget of 40 hours total; by logging an 8.5 hour sick day to that task the worker has marched the work section progress forward almost 25%, without the work actually being done.
It is important that workers be made aware of the importance of logging their leave correctly.
