Setting up Users
There will be workers in your company that will need more than just the ability to log timesheets for a single worker. These workers will need to have a user account and login using an email and password. Below is how to setup a User and their permissions. This includes your Admin staff and Foreman's for your company.
Setting up a new User
- Under the People heading, select Users
- Click + Add new user
- Populate their details
- Click create user
- The user will be created, an invite email will be sent to the email address provided. This will contain a link which allows a password to be set. This way we also know that the email address is reachable and can be used in the future for password resets.
- The email address you provide here is the email address the new User account will login with, you can change it up until they log in for the first time. After that, they must change it themselves. It is not linked to the email address of any worker on the workers page.
Granting Permissions and Giving access
User Permission are rules that say what a user can and can't do in the system. There are three levels of permissions in the Platform: Company level, project level, and a task level.
Company Level Permissions
Company level permission are given to users who need access to do something across the whole company.
Permissions allocated to company administrator
A company administrator has access to everything, no further selection.
- Navigate to the person icon and select Settings
- Under the People heading in your navigation pane select Users
- Select name of User
- Allocate the user permission as company administrator
A company level users control who can see specific features, reports, projects, and tasks. These permissions come in handy when you need to give someone the same access to everything in the company's projects and tasks.
Permissions are broken down into the 5 headings below, each of these open up giving very specific access as required
Now, For example, if someone needs to allocate bills for all projects and tasks. As a company level permission user, you will have the ability to give them company-wide permissions and more specific permissions for individual projects or tasks.
Project and Task Level Permissions
The format for Project and Task are very similar.
Project level permissions are given to users who only need access to a specific project. For example, if someone needs to manage the timesheets for a particular project, they would only need permission to see the tasks and manage the timesheets within that project.
- Select Projects at the top of your page & click the specific project
- Within that specific project you selected, come down to project
- Navigate to the Project Users
- Select + User to project
- Clicking on the drop down box you are able to select a User
Task level permissions are given to users who only need access to a specific task and it's subtasks. For example, if someone only needs to see financial reports for a certain section of a project, they would only need report permissions for that specific task.
- Select Projects at the top of your page & click the specific project
- Within that specific project you selected, navigate to the Project Users
- Click View user details
- Begin allocating the permissions
- Click save once you have made any changes
Users can have a combination of these different types of permissions, depending on what they need access to. For example, a user can have company level permission to see all projects and tasks, project level permission to manage timesheets for a project, and a task level permission to manage budgets and quotes for a group of tasks.
Each of the three types of permissions have their own management screen.
To access Company level permissions, go to the users page in settings.
- Navigate to the person icon and select Settings
To access Project level permissions, go to the users page in project settings.
- Select Projects at the top of your page & click the specific project
- Within that specific project you selected, navigate to the Project Users
To access Task level permissions, go to the users page in tasks settings.
To access Task level permissions, go to the users page in tasks settings.
- Select Projects at the top of your page & click the specific project

Within that specific project you selected, come down to Task & Select the specific Task
- Navigate to the Tasks Users
