Saving a Task Analysis as a Template
If you perform a task regularly, and the same hazards and controls are likely to apply each time, the task analysis can be saved as a template and re-used to avoid having to go through the full analysis process every time.
Tapping ‘Save as Template’ will display the following:
Type the name you’d like to use for your template in the blue input box. The folder icons represent predefined categories of job - if you’d like to save the new template in a job category to make it easier to find, tap the category folder first to open it.
The items shown with icons are existing templates. Those displayed with a padlock are predefined templates which cannot be overwritten.
To use a template, select the “Use Existing Template” button from the starting page and navigate the folder system to find the required template. Tapping the template you need will open a new, pre-populated task analysis which can be edited, steps added, etc in the same way as if it had been created from scratch. When starting from a template in this way you should review the task analysis carefully, and make any changes required for that day’s specific task - remember hazards can change from day to day.
Reviewing an active Task Analysis
From the starting TA page, you can view active TAs using the “Review ACTIVE Task Analysis” button. This will show completed TAs that are currently in use and allows you to review or sign on to a task.
