Overview of a Toolbox Talk
Toolbox Talks provide an opportunity to communicate with your team about safety related matters, and should be held regularly. The app’s Toolbox Talk feature will help you by:
- Prompting you through different areas you might want to talk about
- Providing quick access to other documents such as task analyses and site observations if you need to refer to them during the meeting
- Creating ‘minutes’ of the meeting so you have a record of what was discussed.
The Toolbox Talk page can be accessed from the home screen and contains two tiles for starting and reviewing Toolbox Talks. To start a meeting you need to be signed in to a site - the Toolbox Talk feature is designed to be used ‘on the fly’ as the meeting is taking place. Most items are optional, so you can skip any sections that aren’t relevant to your particular meeting.
While in a Toolbox meeting, it’s possible jump directly to other areas of the app as required (i.e. to review or create a task analysis, site observation, or incident report). If this is done the ‘home’ icon will change to:
Tapping it will then return you to the toolbox meeting instead of the home screen.
